Hello I'm E! I am 28 years old with over 12 years of professional childcare experience. I have lived in Durham for over a year; I currently work at a local non-profit with flexible hours, so I am hoping to provide part time or occasional care for families. I would especially love to work with LGBTQ Families and families that are affirming of all walks of life :) My childcare experience ranges from full time nannying, babysitting children of all ages, working in the school system, after school and summer camp programs, tutoring, and providing babysitting for community, friends, & family. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and I have a passion for educating and advocating for a more inclusive world, fighting all forms of oppression, and community sustainability. I also love house plants, am a CatMom, love doing art, being outdoors, and I love to cook and bake! Read more About me as a caretaker: I have experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, and adolescents. I enjoy doing creative activities that engage the child’s imagination and problem solving, and I love play that gets them outside and using all of their senses. I love making activities that fit their learning levels and challenging them in new and fun ways. I encourage social and emotional learning, and am not afraid of big feelings! I am very familiar with gentle parenting practices. I am experienced in working with kids with disabilities, including Autistm, CP, and other neurodivergence. I can help with online schooling or provide tutoring where I can, and I can provide safe transportation. I am able to provide overnight care, including bed time routines, feedings, and care through the night. With any family that I work with, I practice intentional and open communication that is based on consent, trust, and working together to provide the best environment to suit the needs of your family. I really enjoy building meaningful connections with the families I partner with. Important stuff: I am CPR and First Aid Certified, including infants and toddlers. I am double vaccinated & boosted, and still take intentional COVID precautions. I do not currently have the background checks done on this site, but I am happy to provide that for you upon request.
