Hello! My name is Cathryn and I’ve been working in child care for most of my life. Starting out as a babysitter in my teens years to working in church nurseries in high school and college, I started working as a professional nanny/household mgr after graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Babysitting and nannying was not the original plan, but when the economy was going bad in 2009 and people were having a difficult time finding work, I started a job as a nanny/household mgr, and soon realized how much I enjoyed caring for children on a day-to-day basis and helping parents with everyday life inside and outside the home. I also enjoyed the close the relationships I’ve built with my families in the past and it makes this line of work quite fulfilling. My experience includes overnight stays working multiple days in a row while parents are gone Read more for a quick getaway, assisting on short vacations, scheduling appts, taking children to doctor/dentist visits, taking children to extracurricular activities, play dates, crafts, drop off and pickup at school, homework assistance, meal prep and feeding children, bath time and bedtime/morning routines, laundry for whole family, basic cleaning, organizational projects, and more. Much of my nannying experience came working for families in the medical profession, so the hrs were long and scheduling would many times change from wk to wk, so I needed to be very flexible. I’ve also worked babysitting jobs from multiple families over the yrs for couples/parents that needed a night out or needed an extra hand so they could run out for an appt and run some errands. The past 3 years I stopped doing full time nannying because I started my own family and now have two little girls, ages 1 and almost 3. I still worked short term/part time nanny positions and babysitting jobs with a few families during this time, but nothing full time. My family moved from Charlotte last December, and have yet to do any care taking work in the area, but I’m looking forward to start! Currently, I am looking for either a full time overnight position or some part time babysitting/nanny work in the mornings. My husband works from home, so thankfully he can care for our girls during different times of the day. I look forward to seeing if there are any families out there that need extra help during these hours! I also can give a list of references as needed.
