Hello! Thank you for taking a moment to look at my bio. If you are at all interested, please reach out! I absolutely believe in chatting a few times before becoming a family’s regular care provider. Your family and your home are incredibly important, and I want to make sure we are a good fit before I start working for you. I have always loved caring for others and I began babysitting and pet sitting regularly when I was 10 years old. At 19, I added housesitting (locally and abroad; apartments, enormous houses, and small farms; 1 weekend to over 1 month). After undergrad, I was employed as a nanny and housekeeper for 3 different families for 2-4 years per family. Upon moving to AZ (from North Carolina) I started working as a care provider for adults with physical disabilities and for elderly individuals. My top priorities when caring for Read more others are safety, empathy, respect, and joy. While I love to have fun and think playing, laughing, and exploring are crucial in everybody’s life, I fully realize the tremendous responsibility of this job. I have my AZ fingerprint card as I have worked with vulnerable populations before, I am currently certified in CPR and basic 1st aid, I have the COVID-19 vaccination and I have taken classes for de-escalation, mediation, rescue swimming, and outdoor survival. I have worked with people who are neuro-diverse (including autism spectrum, ADHD, ODD, learning disabilities), who have multiple medical complications (including seizures, immune-compromised, severe allergies), who have different physical abilities, and who experience various mental health issues (including depression, trauma, and anxiety). While I have experience working with a large variety of people, I am not a medical professional nor a licensed social worker. I do have a large heart, value communication, and am always eager to be taught something new. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. If you have any questions let me know! I look forward to meeting you and your family. Sincerely, Joelle
