Hi! My name is Shelby and I'm a 23 year-old second grade teacher! I just finished my second year of teaching and am on summer break looking for a summer job (with possibilities of helping during the school year) that I am passionate about! A little about me, I studied psychology and philosophy in college, I grew up overseas in Asia and can speak Chinese and ASL conversationally. During my time in Asia, I was both a babysitter and a camp counsellor. I worked for a few families as a recurrent babysitter/nanny before I got my job as a camp counsellor where I was CPR and First Aid certified. I have been a teacher since graduating from college with experience teaching grades K-5 as well as special education. I am licensed in elementary and special education. I have tons of experience working one on one with children as well as Read more working with large groups of them! My experience in education gives me the ability to multi-task, handle any behavioral/saftey needs and provide children with educational as well as fun experiences! I consider myself extremely out-going and energetic which is one of the reasons I believe I am a great sitter. I absolutely love working with kids mostly because it gives me a reason to still be a kid sometimes myself! I love arts and crafts, cooking/baking, running around and doing almost anything a kiddo would love as well! I am very willing to help around the house as needed and be an occasional or reoccurring sitter for your family!
