I gave birth to two daughters. Four years later I had four children in five years. Two "father's". Raised them to adulthood. Five have careers and or families of their own. Eldest daughter deceased in 2008, she was 28. I have healthy relationships with all. You can see them on Facebook and decide. Very rarely did I ever have to physically spank any of them. I believe in corporal punishment only after a certain age, and only as a last resort. I whole heartily believe in discipline and consequences. Communication. Mind you if a toddler bites me I will bite them back. Doesn't ever happen twice. I will expect and teach manners, self control, consideration for others and things, verbal skills. I will never "pick" on them or be unkind. Being rude is not okay, for anyone, ever. Children have to be taught. Usually they just don't know. I can Read more be silly and will never make anyone feel ashamed or "bad" for dropping a glass or breaking something accidentally. I will happily clean it up and let them help me. After all when I stop spilling and breaking and making messes, I'll probably be dead. I am honest, hard working, an auto mechanic and very capable. No legal issues ever. Clean record all around. Very healthy. Good genes. Opinionated but not pushy. My Christianity is my own and shows in my heart and mind. I will guard children with my life and not allow other adults near them unless the parents take responsibility. I will expect to feed them nutritious, flavourful foods. "We are what we eat". Someone has to be the adult, period.
