Welcome! My name is Jordan Hatcher and I am a 30-year-old Asheville transplant. I'm a (retired) Air Force BRAT and spent up until 18 years old moving throughout Europe and the United States which made me a well-rounded individual. I went to the College of Charleston and gained my Bachelor's in Sociology. While I was studying I worked for an after-school program at an elementary school in the Charleston School District. I also became a nanny during the summer for two of the kiddos who were in 3rd and 4th grade. Their mom introduced me to her sister and I began nannying part-time for her infant girl. I worked with both families for two and a half years. Upon graduation, I moved to San Diego where I became a full-time nanny and weekend babysitter. My full-time job consisted of working with a single father who spent a lot of time Read more traveling for work. This meant I was taking the children (1st, 3rd, and 10th grade) to and from school, extracurriculars, bedtime routines, and daily operations of the household. On the weekends I babysat a two-year-old where we often went on walks through downtown La Jolla, playtime in the playroom, dinner, and the occasional movie. After learning that I needed to be near my parents again, I moved to Florida and began working at Sephora inside JCPenney. This job moved me back to Charleston and then to Columbia, SC where I began to manage my own location. After quarantine, my husband and I decided that Columbia wasn't where we wanted to live long-term and I took a job working for ULTA in Asheville. I stayed with ULTA for a year before deciding to part ways and begin thinking of a new career path after almost eight years in retail management. Currently, I work for the YMCA after-school program at one of the elementary schools in Arden, NC. In our program, we work with kindergartners to fourth grade. My group in particular is first grade to second grade. We provide a curriculum where we honor our four core values; honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. Outside of our curriculum, we provide a safe place for children to continue playing with their friends. I work with a ton of different personalities each day and can't wait to tackle more by working with your family. I adopt a gentle parenting philosophy and work with your child to understand the big feelings they have every day.
