Hi! My name is Pamela and I'm a senior at Eastern Connecticut State University. I'm one year away from receiving my bachelors in Health Science and Pre-Nursing. My biggest babysitting experience was being a nanny at a sleep away camp for a 3-year-old for 4 weeks. It included 24-7 care, playing with him, swimming supervision, bringing him to breakfast, lunch and dinner, bathing and putting him to bed. During my spring 2016 semester at college, I was a corps member at Jumpstart, which is a program that helps preschoolers in low-income areas get into kindergarten. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning I worked with these kids; included reading, vocabulary, play time, singing and arts & crafts. In order to be a corps member, I had to get a background check, fingerprinted and a drug test to prove that I was a reliable student to be working with children. I joined jumpstart to Read more help me with my graduate school applications. My future job will revolve around children who are cancer patients, so any experience I can get caring for children before graduate school is important to me. On June 20th, I will begin my medical internship in Tanzania, Africa, for 3 weeks, where I get to work with HIV patients, some of which are children.

We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.
