Hi there, my name is Tayla Alexander, and I'm a 21-year-old student majoring in Special Education at The University of Minnesota, with hopes of a gaining my teaching licensure and M.Ed in Early Childhood Special Education. I have worked as a PCA for a family with two boys with autism since August 2017, and my job includes giving medication, bathing, meal prep, outdoor activities, etc. The boys I currently work with have several allergies, so I have a lot of experience in that area of care also; I have also babysat for a 1-year-old for the better part of 2018. Prior to my current positions, I worked as a personal care assistant at ACR homes where I did similar tasks as I do now, and I also acquired my CPR and Basic First Aid certifications. I have had experience babysitting children ranging from ages 1 through to 14, and I Read more have been gaining this experience since I was 15-years-old. I grew up in New Zealand where I found my passion for working with children and volunteering with children with disabilities, and since moving back to the United States two years ago, I have been able to pursue my dream of working towards becoming a Special Educator. I am a driven, energetic, hard-working person who wants to create a fun and safe environment for everyone I am lucky enough to work with. I do have a trip to Montana planned for May 24th-June 8th and a trip to New Zealand from August 12th-August 27th
