I am a junior in college at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, but I am home in Bloomington for the summer. I have had four years of previous paid childcare work. I have had my drivers license since I was sixteen and I have a reliable vehicle. This past summer, 2021, I had the opportunity to nanny for a family of two boys ages two and a half and six, and another family with a girl age five and a boy age nine. Both families only needed a part time nanny, so between the two of them my hours we're pretty booked! We played outside almost every day soaking up the sun, and played lots of play Doh when it would rain. I would help prepare meals for the kids, get them dressed in the mornings and ready for their day, making sure to keep them active throughout Read more the day. It was so sad when the summer came to an end and I had to go back to college, but I have stayed in touch with the families and are able to get updates on how they are doing! I worked as a nanny to four kids ages five to fourteen for a summer while in Highschool. I worked during the weekdays from seven AM until four PM while the parents were at work. I made the kids two meals a day along with snacks and baking desserts. At the time I had recently received my drivers license so the parents of the kids were more comfortable with me staying home with the kids and not driving them places. But I didn't let that limit the fun! We walked to the nearby pool with the parents permission, did crafts outside, played yard games and walked their dog. On rainy days we built forts inside, played board games and baked special treats. While the kids completed their chores, I would load the dishwasher, clean the kitchen or tidy up the house any minute I could. The kids had a lasting impact on me and I am still in contact with the family today. My four and a half year old nephew lives with us and I have babysat him often ever since he wa born. Because of this, I have a lot of experience with young infants. I am comfortable changing diapers and bottle feeding. I absolutely love kids and I couldn't imagine a better job than being a nanny!
