According to the statistics and/or media, I would best be described as 'Over 50, looking for a career change/transition'. After many years working administrative roles in corporate environments and climbing the ladder to mid-management positions, I lost my employment due to budget cuts in June 2024. Therefore, I find myself in a new phase of choosing what I want to do with my life and that is to care for others. My dream would be to use my administrative experience, but translate it to caring for a family, for children, for elderly, for pets. While my years of experience may not show as employment on a resume, I have a lifetime of caring for others, outside of the working environment. I was a single mother the entire time I raised my children (now 35, 38 and 40 years old), have eight grandchildren (2-year-old - 19 years old) that I am Read more actively involved in and have more to give, especially as a long-term caregiver. The corporate environment that I was in did not encourage the Mom/Grandma in me to flourish. Now, with the opportunity of a career transition, that is what I want to be able to focus on. Even if my years of employment experience does not reflect it, my care of others has. My desire is to not only provide childcare, where I 'punch a clock' at the end of the day. I want to be a part of the family, assist in raising the child(ren) long term or allow the flexibility for date nights. Parenting and Grandparenting is a true passion of mine and I have much more to share.
