Hello and thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Kathryn, I am a 28-year-old social work researcher and amateur ceramicist. I am the oldest of six children and I began taking on nannying, babysitting and tutoring positions in high school - I have over a decade of childcare experience outside of my family. I have experience with infants (and it's worth noting that I have experience being the first to babysit for a couple's newborn - lots of empathy and patience for new parents!), as well as experience with twins and children with special needs. My most recent experience: Prior to COVID-19 times, I was an occasional sitter for a one year old boy who needed someone to get him ready for the day and take him to daycare on the mornings when his parents had to work. From February - June 2018, I was a regular nanny Read more (15 hrs/week) for a very loving and energetic 2 year old boy. I worked with the family as both a mommy/daddy's helper and as an independent caretaker during the work week. I took him to classes, built a lot of train tracks for his Thomas toys, and helped with potty training. Also during this time period, I returned as a babysitter to a family that I had worked with in 2016. Then, as a graduate student in 2016, I was an early-morning and evening babysitter for their two fun and energetic eight year old girls, which involved waking them up, getting them ready for school, getting them on the bus/taking them to school and returning in the evening for dinner and bedtime. I have worked with several other families over the years and would be more than happy to discuss further! I am now looking for a family to work with part-time while I work on my PhD dissertation. As an undergrad, I volunteered frequently as a tutor to elementary-aged children. My undergraduate degree is in Child and Family Studies, with an emphasis on Child Development. I also have a Master of Social work degree and I love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors.
