Hi! I’m Savannah, a junior political science and psychology major at OU. I have years of unpaid & paid experience with children of all ages. My passion for childcare began with the care of my little brother, who’s quickly become my best friend and continues to inspire every day. That experience encouraged me to pursue a job in early childhood education as a preschool teacher. While I am no longer one, the skills earned from that are ones I continue to utilize today. I believe in creating a caring and inviting environment that allows for children to grow, feel safe and supported, and inspire them to use their creativity. I incorporate imaginative play, storytelling, and activities that motivate children to flourish cognitively, emotionally, and physically. In addition, I also have experience with individuals with special needs. I was raised by my grandparents who ran a foster care business for special Read more needs individuals in our home. Being raised alongside them gave me a much more comprehensive and empathetic view of the special needs community and those in it. My goal as a caregiver is to facilitate an environment where the child feels seen, safe, and welcome to express themselves freely. That does not change if a child has special needs or not. Rather, I just approach those kids with a bit more patience and understanding in mind. All this being said, I also look to have fun! Experiences make long lasting memories that kiddos carry with them throughout their whole lives. I look forward to meeting your little ones and hope to play a positive role in their life.
