Hi families! I have been babysitting for about 10 years now. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Michigan, completing my masters in social work. I like playing games/sports outside, board games, card games, crafts/coloring, reading etc. It’s always fun to bake or try something new with the child, I like having them included in preparing meals if they want to - anything the child shows interest in I try to find activities related to that area! Spending time playing with kids and I am comfortable with all ages, and the more the merrier. I love how eager they are to learn and to play. They are full of adventure and creativity, and it inspires me to remember all the good things in life. I think children feel comfortable with me and appreciate that I bring out a goofy side when I’m with them but also make sure that I show empathy and understanding for what they communicate with me. I grew up in a family with twenty younger cousins, and as the oldest I have always looked out for the underdog – ensuring that each child feels special in their own way and is paid attention to. I think nurturing confidence in children is incredibly important, and this emphasis makes me someone that children are often drawn to.
