Hello! My name is Edith, and I’m a 22 year old dedicated and nurturing caregiver with a strong background in early childhood education. I am currently a full-time Infant-Toddler teacher at one of the University of Michigan childcare centers, where I’ve been working since May 2023. I’ve been babysitting since 2019 and absolutely love supporting young children’s growth and development. I recently earned my Associate’s Degree in Child Development from Washtenaw Community College and am now pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Children and Families at U of M Dearborn. In early July, I’ll be stepping away from my current full-time position to focus more on my coursework. Starting in mid-August, I’m looking for a 30–35 hour per week position caring for infants or toddlers. In addition to my teaching experience and knowledge of the care of children, I have skills in lesson planning, providing developmentally appropriate activities, and meal prepping. Read more I’m also familiar with baby sign language and love incorporating it into daily routines to support communication. Something else I love doing with children is messy sensory play and art. I am a firm believer that these are extremely important in a child’s development. I’ve attended several early childhood education conferences, including MIAEYC and HighScope, to stay up to date with best practices in the field. My current job has provided up to date health and safety trainings as well as CPR. I’m also happy to complete any additional trainings to best meet your child’s unique needs. I look forward to connecting with a family who values gentle, thoughtful care.
