Hello, my name is D’aveon and thank you for considering to include me into your family! As a Baltimore City native, I grew up in a school system with limited resources and programs that helped children excel and reach their full potential. I promised myself that as an adult I would be an advocate for education and give students the love, care, and knowledge that were lacking in the education system during my school years. I have over 5 years of experience in early childhood education serving as a babysitter and nanny. I have also served 2 years teaching, mentoring, and tutoring at primary, intermediate, and secondary schools. With the nurturing skills that I have learned from being a nanny and the instructional skills I have learned from being a tutor and teacher, not only will your child receive the care they need, they will obtain the appropriate developmental skills Read more for their stage of development. I am currently teaching at a public charter school in ward 8 in DC.There are many things I cherish about working in childcare. I get to feel like a kid again singing songs and nursery rhymes, getting wet and messy with art activities, and rolling on the floor and moving around with the little ones. What I love most about childcare is witnessing the individual and collective growth of all members involved, childcare provider, children , and families alike all learn through the experiences shared with each other.
