I have been a care provider for about 10 years and have experience with a wide variety of ages and personalities. For starters, I am the eldest of 4 siblings aged 1, 4 and 15. Caring for them has truly helped shaped my care taking skills, especially in the younger years when they were dependent on everyone around them for survival and advocacy. Vigilance and compassion are two qualities that were strengthened in caring for them. Additionally, I have been teaching Sunday School at my church for the past 7 years, working with children from ages 3-15. I have thoroughly enjoyed finding solutions to small challenges that occur in class such as working through different opinions, newly found allergies, varying intellectual skills and even language barriers. This experience continually allows me to understand that all children are truly different and it takes time to familiarize yourself with their learning patterns, Read more their language and their behaviors. I also worked at the Seven Hills Foundation where I learned important strategies for caring for people with different behaviors, strong personalities, people on the autism spectrum and even people with chromosomal disorders. I have been CPR and first aid certified for infants, children, and adults. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and I enjoy teaching children simple science facts in their young age to familiarize them with some of the systems that occur in our everyday life! I love working with children and helping them discover the power of their own voice and imagination. I also believe it is extremely important to learn about and understand the family core values of each child I care for so that I can also uphold those values with the child during the time they are in my care.
