As someone who has been working with the community for the past two years, I can wholeheartedly say I love working with children and teenagers. I first found my passion, two years ago when I started working at my first group home. Here, I worked with teenagers and young adults who faced mental health issues. As a residential counselor, my responsibilities were providing transportation, preparing meals, ensuring safety and cleanliness, creating a supportive environment that will enhance individual growth, and assisting individuals in meeting their basic health needs. Oftentimes, I would help individuals with homework, projects, studying, and applying for jobs. Additionally, I would always encourage and love doing activities that consisted of physical movement and getting fresh air. Aside from this, I also have experience working with children with autism. As a behavioral technician, I worked with children under 12 years old hoping to accelerate in teaching targets. Some Read more things I had to target and were successful in were: toilet training, writing, consistent eating and sleeping schedule, and communication. Because of my great experience in these two fields, along with how driven I am, I can strongly say being a nanny is something I could see myself enjoying. For years now, I have loved children and adore being around them.
