I have been doing paid and unpaid child care since I was about 11, starting with my younger sister and growing up in neighborhood families through high school, as well as intermittent sitting and care throughout college and graduate school. Particularly, I have experience with children with various intellectual and developmental disabilities and was a care provider for a child with various needs and her sibling for over a year in college. I can personally understand the importance of finding a caregiver for a family member with special needs as my sister has autism and I have been involved in setting up her care in the last few years. While I now work full time, I enjoy providing child care occasionally to help out families who need it and a supplementary income.
