I worked as a substitute teacher for a couple of years (2019-2020) and have been working as a paraprofessional in an elementary school since school resumed in the spring of 2021. I have also worked the summer camp in my district two summers in a row. I have loved being able to get outdoors, be creative, and allow kids to express themselves outside of the classroom in a variety of ways. Being able to teach and learn alongside children has been the best experience I've had so far. I love working with children and being able to support them and watch them grow and learn. My experience has been with ages 4-12, children with learning/intellectual disabilities, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and neurotypical children. Most of my experience has been in a school and summer camp setting, but I have also babysat for coworkers and family friends. I typically prioritize the feelings and needs of those around me. I am very ambitious when it comes to both work and school. I am a college student and will be finishing my Bachelor’s degree in psychology in December. I do not have a lot of experience with infants (aside from helping raise my little sister when I was around 10 years old), but I love children of all ages and am eager and enthusiastic about gaining experience and knowledge from working and playing with them. I also believe that it is important to keep their minds and bodies engaged in the physical world from a very young age, which is why I try to avoid screen time as much as possible unless it is for educational purposes. I go First Aid and CPR re-certified in July 2022.
