My name is Amanda, and caring for children and constantly learning about development, learning techniques, and being the best version of myself are at the top of the list of my passions! Background: Born and raised on Cape Cod, MA. Bachelor's in baking & pastry and management(2010) Early Childhood Development Certification(2016) Former daycare owner. My career has always looped back around to working with children, and I couldn't be more happy about that. I've been with my current family for over 2 years now, and I can honestly say they would agree I'm part of the family now. With their mother being a pediatrician, I have learned an immense amount from her, and the families 2 girls that have become my best friends. My creativity spark exploded these past 2 years, and cardboard and a glue gun have become such a fun part of their learning(honestly!). Older girl was reading Read more just before 3 years old and is now at 3rd grade level at the age of 4, and the younger one who just turned 3(Feb of 2023) is on the cusp of reading. I only share that because ive truly seen the potential in children and how dedication and consistently can make their learning beautifully bloom. (I understand every child learns at different paces, and I never ever push learning when a child isn't ready). I love cooking and baking for the family, and it's also a great opportunity to do with kids! I actually love cleaning and it's a weird therapy for me, so organizing, laundry, dishes, etc are never an issue. I really want to find a family I can grow with in the next years, and one that is willing to learn from me and vice versa. I can't say enough how much it fills my heart to work with infants, toddlers, and children. I hope to hear from you.
