My name is Sydney, I am a 24 years old with 7+ years of experience working with children of all ages. I have ample experience working with children who have special needs and children undergoing psychiatric and medical care. I have a B.S. in Expressive Arts Therapy and have held positions of high stress and great leadership. I had an amazing opportunity to work as the Program Coordinator for South Shore SNAP. A special needs athletic program for children from a mixture of towns in the South Shore. This program gave me the opportunity to experience a high-stress environment and take on a leadership role for my community. As the Coordinator I worked closely with public transportation, the facility management, the town of Hingham who founded the program, mentors, families and the campers. I created daily lesson plans for dance, music and art activities, as well as supervising the athletic Read more staff at 6 athletic rotation stations. The camp gave me the opportunities to build close lasting relationships with each camper and provide them with the skills to feel comfortable to be themselves and the confidence to strive to achieve their dreams. I have also had experience working with children undergoing psychiatric care at Boston Children's Hospital under the supervision of the Recreational Therapy team. I lead and co-lead therapeutic groups as well as providing advice and companionship to each child. I was in charge of daily documentation of patients and group attendance documentation. I have dedicated my life to working with and helping children through whatever life my bring. I am passionate about making a difference in a child's life.
