Fun loving Compassionate Retired Nurse My name is Laurie and I am a retired RN with my BSN. Prior to my nursing career I have extensive experience caring for infants, toddlers and elementary school aged children. I began babysitting at the age of twelve and continued part-time while in college. I found taking care of infants and toddlers to be especially rewarding. Coming full circle, I have returned to childcare. I have training in early childhood development as well as clinical experience in pediatrics. During my career I worked in the Newborn/Special Care Nursery for over a year before moving to the Adult ICU. Since that time I’ve helped numerous family and friends with their children including my own grandchildren on a regular basis. I look forward to providing nurturing care and presenting activities according to your child’s developmental stage to keep them engaged to reach milestones. I believe All Read more play is learning! Some of these activities would include reading, going for walks, singing, dancing and of course, plenty of cuddles. I want to learn your parenting style so that I can provide consistency and work seamlessly with your family. I have good communication skills and my co- workers describe me as easygoing,compassionate,reliable and trustworthy. Being a pet parent myself I’m comfortable working with a family with pets. I am fully vaccinated including RSV. Recently I was certified by the American Red Cross in Advanced Childcare and BLS/CPR by the American Heart Association. My availability is flexible although I prefer no more than 2-3 days/week. Looking forward to the opportunity to discuss this further.
