I am a 19 year old college student who is majoring in social work! I want to work with children in foster care. I have always had a passion for helping people, but especially children. I have 5 younger sisters, the youngest one being only 3. I also have many younger cousins, and due to personal issues, I have spent a lot of time with them and occasionally caring for them. I also have experience working with children with disabilities. At the age of 13, I began volunteering at a program called Buddy Break once a month. Buddy break is a program where parents who have children with disabilities can drop their children with disabilities, and their siblings off for 4 hours, and they are paired with one “buddy”, and we spend 1 on 1 time with them. It gives the parents a break, and allows us to give the Read more kids time to do different activities and interact with other kids. I plan on minoring in special ed. I love working with children and I am wanting to put my skills, knowledge, and love for children to use!
