I'm looking for an after school or mid day to eve Sitter/Nanny position. My most recent nanny position was caring for a 6yo girl. I would pick her up after school. We'd go home, get a snack, unwind a bit, change clothes then I'd drive her to an after school activity. Her schedule was different each day so I had to be flexible. On the rare days where she didn't have a commitment we would play outdoors if weather permitted. We may go to the park or on occasion just go for ice cream. We often would work on math or spelling. Lots of times I needed to drop her off and go back to her home and wait until it was time for her to be picked up. If this was the case I would tidy up the kitchen; load or unload the dishwasher, clean up any breakfast dishes, Read more empty the trash and sweep the kitchen floor. They had two dogs that needed to be let out of their crates and outside as well. Before working with this family I was doing a lot of the same for 5yo-14yo boys and girls. I believe in maintaining a fun, nurturing, but structured and safe environment. I was a Bus Monitor for 5 years before becoming a Para Educator with Olathe School District for 3 years for pre-k thru 8th grade. I worked one on one or in small groups outside of the classroom. I helped with daily lessons from reading to math. I've worked with children with ADHD, Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. I have a passion for education and shaping young minds. I'm very good with children and have always possessed the uncanny ability to relate to children of all ages. I'm a very loving, kind hearted, loyal and nurturing person. I love watching movies, movie trivia, reading and I love watching the Chiefs. Children are our greatest treasures and I would treat yours as I would want mine to be treated.
