Hello, My Name is Elizabeth, and I am looking for full time work as a nanny starting Oct 21, 2024. I have over 40+ years of childcare experience with 30 of that being a professional nanny on the East Coast (DC and Boston Areas). Most of my experience has been with children ages birth to 5 years of age. I enjoy helping children discover the world around them and believe they should be given lots of opportunities to learn new things. As they do this, they will be able to discover new interests and be able to explore those interests in a safe and encouraging environment. Children should have a schedule that incorporates fun learning experiences with lots of independent play as well. Play is the best learning experience for children. Depending on ages here are some fun things I like to do with the children I babysit/nanny for: swimming, adventure-nature Read more walks, kitchen creations-meals and snacks, food tastings, playground time, play dates with friends, arts and crafts, reading, museum trips, and much more. We give them the places of experience and let them do the leading in their learning. Example: I took one of nanny kids to the art museum. We passed a painting she liked, and she fussed until I stopped and let her look at it. We were there for 10 minutes and then she wanted to move on. This happened several times. She was only 8 months old. She still loves art. Example: Library Day-We both check out books with a variety of topics and when returning to the house she would hand me my book and tell me to "read" while she just sat and explored her new library books while sitting on the floor next to me. When she was ready for me to read her books to her, she would hand me one of her books and say "Read". Having the time to explore the books first let her figure out which one she wanted read to her first. I believe in working together with the parents and the child(ren) to figure out what works best for them individually. I have a current passport and have traveled internationally and domestically with my nanny families over the years. CPR/First Aid Certified. expires 11/18/2025 Bachelor's Degree in Ealy Childhood Ed/Early Childhood Special Education (2013) Go to yearly International Nanny Training Days and do online courses to keep up to date on new developments in field of Child Development. Experience with Preemies, Multiples and Early intervention. Allergies to most pets even hypoallergenic ones.
