Hi there, I'm Amel Abbas, a certified Physician Assistant with 5+ years in medical practice. I'm married, have 1 dog (shown in pictures) and live in Overland Park, KS. I recently quit my PA job due to healthcare provider burnout and taking some time off to find my passion again. I have several years of experience caring for children ever since I was in HS ranging from infants to pre-teens. I’m passionate about creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for kids while also providing peace of mind to parents. Plus, I want to be a mom soon so I would want the same care for my future children as well. Where do I start with this young lady? To start, I am just so impressed with her professionalism. Amel came to us after one friend-recommended sitter canceled days before a very important event for my husband; one we traveled from Chicago to Kansas City to attend with his family. I then went through TWO other Sittercity applicants that both canceled the same day. The second one went so far as to claim the site had been hacked and she felt unsafe....Amel reached out to see if I was able to find a sitter and then told my husband and I she would be at my inlaws home within 30 minutes with books and toys for my 2.5 year old and 5 month old! She showed up exactly 30 minutes later with a positive attitude and embraced my kids. She was assertive, creative and someone I trusted immediately. My son cant express himself yet but my toddler told me expressly how much fun she had playing with Amel and wanted to see if she could "come home with us". Honestly I wanted Amel to come home with us too! If we could manage the arrangement I would have no qualms about hiring her to go on vacation with us and or stay with my kids in my home in Chicago while we went away. The next time I am back in Kansas City I will do my best to hire her for any amount of time she is available. I would like to offer to expand on this review to any Mom or Dad considering Amel for hire as I am just overwhelmed with our experience with her. Five stars all around; professionalism, kindness, creativity, warmth. Hire this young woman and you wont want to let her go!

Amel was an absolute lifesaver for my wife and I! We were visiting KC from LA and we did not have child care lined up for our rambunctious two-year-old and our 12 week old baby girl. We booked her on short notice and she was absolutely fantastic. Trustworthy and calm and great with both kids. She worked out so well that we ended up booking her again the day we were trying to pack for the end of our trip. She showed up early and took the toddler off our hands while we got everything together. Couldn’t have done it without her. Highly recommended!!
