Hello! I'm a career nanny who has now returned home to Indiana, though I've worked mostly in Portland, Oregon over the past 15 years. As a nanny, I've worked with 11 families with twins (ranging from 2 mo. to 4 yrs.) and three infant/toddler nanny shares in addition to a number of singletons. I've supported breastfeeding, elimination communication, baby led weaning, co-sleeping, etc. I am conscientious and an open, honest communicator. I look for the same in my employers. In my experience, kids thrive when they are given space to demonstrate and expand their capacity within a nurturing and compassionate environment. I enthusiastically follow and support each child's interests and curiosity as much as is feasible whether that means splashing in puddles for an hour, cooking together, or reading the same book twenty times. I am knowledgeable about attachment theory and see each child's emotional security as paramount to their Read more well-being, which means I also am consistent about setting expectations and following through. From infancy the children in my care know that my presence means they can relax - they are safe. My style is informed by approaches such as Montessori and RIE, though my priority is a securely attached child who is continually growing. I have recently had a child of my own who was born in February. He'll come along with me as I care for your kiddo.
