I am currently a SAHM, offering my services at an affordable rate for another family. We are open for 1 child to come share our home weekdays during the day/evening. I am a naturopathic doctor that recently finished med school. I had two children (infant and toddler now) while in school and I am taking some time to just be home with my family while I work on building my medical practice. I have an extensive history in childcare as well as being a doctor- so your child would be safe and well cared for while at our home! We have a medium-large sized dog that is great with kids. We like to get outside and do fun things when weather permits and my toddler would love to have a friend to play with during the day.
Trust & safety
We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.

Shawna started working for us in January 2015 when I returned to work and our son was just over 3 months old. Upon meeting her I had a great feeling about Shawna, and my gut feeling was 100% right! My little guy took a liking to her right away-she is calm, easy going, organized, and she does lots of fun and interactive activities with him all day. She reads to him, sings to him, and has even started teaching him sign language! I thought I would be a nervous wreck leaving my son with a caregiver when I went back to work, but Shawna made it so easy. She sends me lots of pictures and updates throughout the day, and each morning when I leave I never think twice because I know that my child is in great hands. The only reason she is now only with us two days per week is because I decided to take a part time position at my job so that I can spend more time at home. I feel so fortunate that she has remained a part of our family, and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing part time nanny!

Shawna was with us for 6 months before she had to move back to Chicago. She took excellent care of our baby boy, and we were very sad to lose her. It is hard to find a caregiver that you can trust with your 3 month old baby, but we lucked out in finding that in Shawna. Not only is she punctual and reliable, she is also patient, kind, and loving, and truly enjoys spending time with children. We have a no-TV policy in our home, and she was great about reading to and playing with our son. She was always game to take him to the park, museums, baby classes, or other fun outings. Our baby developed a special bond with Shawna, and misses her already. I'm sure some lucky family in Chicago will appreciate her as much as we did.
