My passion for arts education has prompted me to gain a wide range of experience working in art organizations and mentoring children ages 7-12. I believe that these opportunities to engage and mentor young children have made me more than ready to be an excellent care taker. My role as a Tutor P.S. 033 Chelsea Prep allowed me to teach and engage with students in a formal public school setting. I led two tutoring groups consisting of twenty 4th-grade students each in preparation for statewide writing exams, graded 2 sets of class assignments weekly, and helped greatly improve grades. Furthermore, my experience mentoring fourth-grade students at the Arts on Sedgwick community center was enriching. Through this program, I designed activities to teach them about abstract art. It was very fun to see the children explore with different materials, colors, and textures.I aimed to encourage my mentees to be curious, experimental, Read more and record their ideas along the way. Overall I am committed to teaching children about arts and crafts in a creative and engaging manner.
