Greetings from a 37 year old single mother! I come from a large family and grew up in Kankakee county. I have fully raised one child on my own who is now 18 and doing spectacular! I am currently pursuing my own artistic career but while it is slowly growing I have plenty of time to devote to your little ones. I recently enjoyed helping my sister with her two children, ages 2 and 8, while school was remote and daycare was inconsistently available in 2020 to early 2021. My professional childcare experience comes from Indian Oaks Academy in Manteno, IL where I worked from 2015 - 2017. My duties included counseling and looking after difficult and troubled youth at a residential treatment center. Some of these children also had developmental disabilities such as autism, ADD, and ADHD among others. There was a rigorous background check and training program that Read more I had to undergo to get this position which included CPR certification and frequent re-certification. I learned many helpful therapeutic techniques to use with children and had to complete training regularly. From 2009-2011 I was a nanny for 3 girls ages 7, 12, and 15. I was a church-goer at the time and the girls were homeschooled so I had to double as teacher and nanny. This makes me uniquely suited to help families who may have chosen to homeschool their children for whatever reason. I love children and enjoy caring for them and interacting with them. I have a sense of humor and a very caring, intuitive, and understanding nature. I am also extremely responsible, creative, and intelligent. I have an associates degree in business and have worked many different office jobs over the years but the most rewarding has been my work with children. My hobbies include many crafty projects and I am an active person that would make sure your children were engaged and happy while under my care. I have my own car and don't mind a small commute. I have never had any issue with being punctual for a job position and would not leave you stressed out waiting for me to show up! I understand personally the struggles parents can go through as I have been there! I have received both the Covid vaccine and flu shot this year and am in perfect health. I am currently working on my CPR recertification so that it will be up to date prior to when I start working.
