I grew up as the second oldest child in a family of seven children. As soon as I was ten years old, my mom would hire me to watch my siblings so she wouldn’t need to find a sitter. I have a love for young souls and I appreciate any experiences I can have with people who are newer to the world than me. I learn so much from them. Other than having daily experience for over 5 years with children, I have volunteered at a preschool in China for a few months when I was about 13 years old. There I learned that even when you don’t understand what the child is saying and they don’t understand what you are saying, there are still many ways to communicate and understand feelings, emotions, needs, and wants. I have a special understanding of children’s needs and don’t lose my temper or Read more become irrational when they won’t listen. I strive to help them feel understood- no matter your age, it’s very fulfilling to know that someone understands your wants, needs, or just what you’re trying to say. I’m partially doing this for some extra money in this economy, but I’m also doing this because since moving away from home I miss having younger people around. I like having the outlet to care for someone little, and I throughly love being around kids and reading them stories and playing games. I’m very passionate and trustworthy about childcare, and when babysitting I prioritize the child/children’s well being while also prioritizing the parent/guardian(s) of the child(ren) and keeping them informed so they can be at peace while away from their little ones. I have a full time job, but am still willing to give up early mornings and late nights during the week, and I am free most weekends.
