Hello! I'm Michelle and I'm an all- around home care provider! I grew up in a big family and we split a lot of responsibilities growing up so I've done a little bit of everything. I love spending time with my nieces and nephews and engaging them in art and science projects, or taking them out with all the dogs to the park to play. And I also love when I'm the family chef for the night or going out to run errands and grocery shop for our big feast. I am patient and positive in my babysitting. Growing up is such a beautiful and crucial process for us all and I believe in leading by example in my groundedness, compassion, and consideration. I am not really a 'throw on a movie' babysitter, unless it's a weekend or has a special element to it. I believe in taking kids outside Read more on fun walks down the Greenbelt to see wildlife! And sitting with them and making snacks while they do their homework, playing with real games and our imaginations, and going to museums and aquariums. I believe in engaged listening with kids when they talk about their friends, hobbies, favorites, concerns. It's important to me that children feel heard while in my care. I have solid boundaries about how I am treated and others are treated, and I feel that has to be earned as well. Kids shouldn't just listen to an adult because they are older, respect is a two- way street. I am respectful, responsible and mature. I work independently with ease, but know when to ask clarifying questions before making assumptions. I am detail- oriented in my home care, efficient and effective with time and space, and I am fully adept at cleaning, organizing, painting, and landscaping. I love anything to do with healthy and delicious food. And I absolutely love and adore pets and am very happy to play with them or walk them. I have been American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified and will renew my certifications in the coming months. I spend my free time practicing yoga, riding my bike, listening to music, hiking in the foothills, cooking with my family and friends, and reading new books. This summer I look forward to learning more about kayaking and macramé!
