Hello! My name is Ellie. I am currently employed at the Southwest Idaho ENT as a Certified Nursing Assistant but am looking to move back into childcare. I have been working with children since I was 13 when I took a safe-sitters course and began babysitting on a regular basis for families in my neighborhood where I gained a lot of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 10 years. I worked with several families for many years and became part of their family until I left for college. I loved working with children so much that I found many opportunities to feed that passion which included volunteering in my mother’s early childhood classroom, teaching vacation bible school and spending multiple summers as a camp counselor. After high school, I attended college for Elementary Education and realized that although I loved working with children, teaching wasn’t necessarily my lifelong Read more dream. I moved back to Boise where I took a position working at a local childcare center and preschool. Through this job, I was able to develop great relationships with many of the families and ended up working for many of them outside of the center during my time off. This led me to an amazing opportunity to travel for nearly 8 months both domestically and internationally as a nanny for a local family who are musicians. Since then, I have been working for Southwest Idaho ENT. Working with children brings out the best in me and my life. I like to use creative play, be active, read, and have fun with children. Boise is full of life and nature so finding something to do outdoors is quite easy and fun for everyone. If the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor activities, I whip out my creative side and generate hands on learning projects, build forts, bake or simply cuddle and read. Most importantly, no matter the child, I let them know through my interactions with them, that I am an extension of their home when their parents leave, and I am there to make them feel secure and comfortable. When I have time away from work, I enjoy singing, swimming, paddle boarding, camping and spending time with my family! I love to try new things and am constantly looking for new activities! To watch a child grow day to day is a wonderful experience. I would love to be a part of that in any home. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!
