I love being a sitter because kids bring so much joy and energy into the world, and I love being part of their growth and development. Whether through play, creative activities, or simply being a comforting presence, I enjoy creating a safe and engaging space where kids feel supported. Every child is different, and I love adapting to their personalities, interests and needs to make each experience fun and meaningful. I am a Child Life Student Assistant at Stead Family Children’s Hospital (University of Iowa). I help children and families navigate medical experiences through play, emotional support, and developmentally appropriate activities. I also have experience teaching swim lessons, which has strengthened my ability to build trust, encourage confidence, and adapt to different learning styles. Additionally, I’ve worked as a support teacher in a childcare center, caring for children from one to six years old, leading activities, and fostering social-emotional growth. Read more My experience extends beyond the U.S., as I had the opportunity to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, where I gained a deeper understanding of child development and cultural perspectives in care. I have hands-on experience in child development, behavior management, and emotional support. Through my child life role, I’ve learned how to help children cope with stress, express emotions, and engage in therapeutic play. Teaching swim lessons taught me the importance of patience, safety, and individualized instruction. Studying abroad in Cape Town broadened my perspective on global childcare practices and deepened my ability to connect with children from diverse backgrounds. I’m also experienced in leading group activities, problem-solving on the go, and creating a positive, engaging environment where kids feel encouraged and supported.
