Hello! My name is Haley Bates, and I am a post-baccalaureate student at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), where I am studying Communication Disorders! I previously earned my bachelor’s degree in TESOL from UNI and will be starting my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology next semester. I bring over five years of experience providing engaging, safe, and fun care as a babysitter for families in Ames, Iowa, and surrounding areas. Additionally, I have worked as a Preschool Teacher and Child Care Associate at two daycare centers, where I created structured yet playful learning environments for children. My hands-on teaching field experiences through UNI’s education department have honed my skills in planning age-appropriate activities and fostering positive social interactions. Currently, I am an observing student clinician at the Roy Eblen Speech and Hearing Clinic in Cedar Falls, where I further develop my expertise in supporting children’s communication and developmental needs.
