I'm a lifelong student with many diverse passions including music, cooking, art, foreign language, yoga, nature, and dance, which I enjoy sharing with kids of all ages. I began my first childcare experience as a teenager, at a home daycare with mostly babies and young toddlers. It was there that I got my certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, and also discovered how much I love working with kids. Eight years spent in the restaurant and hospitality industries has shown me how to work with many different types of people, and the true value of patience in the face of difficulty. I consider myself a very kind-hearted and loving individual, and enjoy working with special needs children very much. My approach with ADHD, autism spectrum, learning disabilities, and emotional/developmental challenges, is to help kids feel successful and foster their confidence and self-esteem. I strongly believe that the most effective method of discipline is positive motivation and reinforcement. I personally prefer active learning and outdoor activity to technology based educational methods. I am comfortable tackling homework, hosting playdates, going to the park, walking dogs, or cooking nutritious meals at home together. Simply put, my joy is in nurturing creativity, growth, and discovery!
