I love working with kids and I have been working with them professionally for the last four years. However, I am the oldest of four and grew up helping my parents with my brother and sisters. I love working with kids because they are so energetic and taking care of them is rewarding and fulfilling. While I was a senior in high school I worked as a child watch attendant at the local YMCA. I worked with children aged 6 weeks to 13 years in age. I continued working there on breaks throughout my first year in college. As a sophomore in college I was a mentor for a program called DREAM. While working with this program I mentored children ages 6-18 years old from low income neighborhoods in the Boston area. During my last two years of college I worked for a family of 6 with kids aging from Read more 9 months to 10 years in age. I was a Nanny/Mother's Helper and helped out with anything from laundry and meal prep to organizing various work spaces around the house. During the summers I worked full time for a Nature Camp with a recreation department, first as a counselor, then as a director. I am now employed by the University of Georgia Aquarium as a Marine Education Intern. I work with kids of all ages teaching interactive classes about marine biology and the Georgia coast.
