I am Kimberly Altopiedi. Child development has always been an interest of mine, although I never pursued it professionally. I love to see the growth in kids when they explore new things, learn independence, responsibility, and obtain new skills. It truly is amazing to have the privilege to watch a child grow! I have scattered experiences starting in Junior high when I was a sitter for 3 young energetic boys, ages 1, 4 and 5. My interest at that time lead me to take a child development class in high school. A few years later I started working for a day care in Georgia, where I lived at the time. I was employed with them for 2 years and left to move back to Tampa. In 2000 I worked for a day care locally for about 6months, before I had to leave do to health issues I need to address. Read more Throughout these experiences I worked with newborn through age 5. I have a son, now 18. I helped raise my sisters children 2 girls and a boy, all adults now as well. I have 14 years of experience volunteering with a Children's organization in leadership roles with the kids. Age ranges from 5 to 18 years. I have training in Infant CPR, AED, CPR, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and extensive training specific in age appropriate teaching and play. Time outdoors is an important part of every day as is physical activity and I love to incorporate learning into everyday activities.
