Hello families! My name is Shannon and I am currently a 7th Grade Teacher in the northern Chicago area. I am in my second year of teaching. Ever since high school I have been working with kids. I started as a mothers helper, babysitter, and swim teacher in high school. In college I worked at a daycare with children from 3 months- 5 years. My school is currently working remotely so I have extra time in the late afternoon, evenings, and weekends to help out families with babysitting/tutoring! I have a lot of experience taking care of children of all ages and would love to continue caring for kids aside from teaching!

Oh how we wish we could keep Shannon or clone her! Even in such a short amount of time she helped us beyond words with our 2 girls. Our daughters are ages 3 and 7 months and she made watching the girls without screens seem easy. My husband and I have been working from home and to our disbelief she was able to help our 3 year old with distractions to combat her separation anxiety. We noticed such a difference in our toddler’s speech, speaking closer to full sentences. The time Shannon spent with our girls was full of attention, creativity and care, you can tell she genuinely loves being around children. She spent so much time outdoors with them, also helped with snacks, made lunch and fed baby food. She was comfortable being around our dog which is definitely an added benefit when bringing someone new into your home. On top of it all, Shannon would reassure us and send a little quick pic or video while we were away. If you are reading this you definitely won’t regret working with Shannon.
