We hired Patricia and agreed on a long term full time position (after 2 day trial with us) to help with our 2 kids. She worked for us for a week and got paid Friday, on Sunday at 3pm she texted us to let us know that unexpected events prevented from working with us. A professional in a sensitive position like a nanny should at least give a week notice to the family after agreeing to a full time position. We weren't happy 100% with her but we thought we could work things out because my 2 year old really liked her, here were the issues: --She is not clean (had to ask her multiple times to wash her hands to hold my 3 week old baby) --She doesn't follow any directions --Never warmed babies lunch up --Gave her raspberries without washing fruit --Left everything out and didn't tidy up, upon leaving for the day It's unfortunate that a professional nanny doesn't understand the importance of stability in regards to kids and if they do not think a position would not work for them, they should not accept it to begin with.
