Finding the perfect nanny/babysitter is exciting! My name is Melissa :) I'm 31 years old and have had the pleasure of nannying/babysitting children since I was 16. I absolutely love working with children! I dress comfortably and I find that it is easier to run around with kids and be silly than to be wearing something I can’t chase them in! I encourage manners and for them to be themselves. I'm more of an older sister than just the average nanny. The way that I discipline is very simple. If a child stomps their feet, screams, whines, or complains with a tantrum - I talk to them. I ask if they understand why they are feeling the way that they do. I try to guide them with examples of a better way to ask for what they want. I then ask them to apologize for throwing a tantrum and if Read more they are ready for the next activity or plan. If you prefer another way, I’m happy to oblige! I talk to children about their aspirations, encourage them in their passions, and pay attention to them. I make sure that the kids I nanny know they are loved and that they can trust me. I make dinners, lunches, do laundry, and try to keep the house clean. If you're wanting someone to just pick up your kid and bring them home, I'm not the one you're looking for. If you would rather someone who really cares about your child like an older sister would, that's me. I treat every child like they are family because I can’t help it. I promise all the love and all the fun with just the right amount of “Ok, she is serious right now”. You won't find a better "big sister” than me!
