Hi! My name is Nicole, and I am currently in college studying nursing. I plan on going into pediatrics and have a strong passion to help children learn and grow. I have multiple years of experience in childcare as a camp counselor- at places like the Orlando Science Center and local community camps. Also, as part of a nonprofit organization that empowers young girls to enter STEM, your child’s success is something important to me! I have multiple years of summer camp volunteer experience as a camp leader. Throughout middle school and high school, I spent my summers as a camp leader responsible for 5-7 children as I supervised them through daily stations of activities. This past summer, I was employed at the Orlando Science Center as a camp counselor. I supervised classrooms with up to 25 campers (including those with special needs). My responsibilities ranged from transitioning campers to Read more daily activities, basic first aid, and emotional support throughout the day (8 AM-5 PM). In both of these experiences, I gained significant experience in guiding children to development both cognitively and emotionally. I also gained a large amount of gratitude to be able to enrich and lead the lives of those younger than me. My general philosophy is about curiosity and gratitude. I have learned from working with children how precious their time is at this age. Their minds are growing both cognitively and emotionally. It is important to me to foster this. Whether that be through education, play, or communication such interaction is vital to the growing mind. Secondly, I will always support gratitude. Gratitude for what I have been given fuels my passion to give others the same. Also, gratitude is a gift that allows us to open our minds and appreciate what is around us. When we are grateful for what we have (nature, our family, material things), what we take in is unlimited. This is something that underlies my care.
