I have been babysitting since I was 14 after I became a certified babysitter. I am very comfortable with kids of all ages. I can assist with homework and tutoring. Not a typical TV nanny. I prefer doing activities spending time reading and making art. Reliable transportation, and military friendly.

Karen joined our family in June 2018, and was with us through the summer of 2021. When she started, our little guy (our first) was only four months old and as new parents, we were challenged with making an incredibly hard decision on his future caregiver. Plain and simple, we picked one of the warmest, thoughtful, compassionate, and supportive people we know. As a new mom, I was nervous to leave my infant with someone and Karen came poised and confident in handling his needs and also asked of and was open to our preferences for his care. She offered her expertise, coached us at times, and was an unbelievably calming force in our lives. Over the course of the three fantastic years, including a very challenging time due to COVID, she was a constant in our son’s life, caring for him, teaching him manners, getting him ahead on school lessons (ABCs, numbers, etc.), and learning Spanish. We navigated working at home together, being open and communicative about the pandemic, and supporting one another. Overall, her approach to childcare is child-centric. She was so amazing supporting our son and encouraging him to learn for himself, asking questions, fostering his inquisitiveness, and knowing when to allow him to control his environment or when it was time to provide more guidance. Even though he is off to preschool, we hope that Karen will always be part of our son’s life, and we highly recommend her.

Like any parent, I'm apprehensive on letting anyone watch my child but heard great reviews from my sister about this site and let go of my fear and decided to give it a go. Not that you wanted to hear my life story but anyhow I was a scared parent just like the rest of us and new to this online thing. Karen, met with me prior, because again my paranoia is pretty high and she was absolutely warm and welcoming! Reassuring and kind. My son, Tyler, who is 2 and quite a busy boy warmed right up to her. She came on short notice and Was spectacular with Tyler. I stayed for an hour or so at the house to watch them interact and she was so intuitive. Knew exactly what he wanted and he didn't get upset or frustrated. He absolutely adored her and so did I. So much so that I wish I had her back home with me! She didn't immediately revert to a tv baby sitter or an iPad to keep him busy. She interacted with him. So after feeling comfortable enough to leave, I enjoyed my night out with my girlfriend without a worry in the world. I came home and the house was cleaned! She organized it. I was so surprised by that alone and quite frankly touched! Tyler was so worn out from playing he was in bed at a reasonable hour and slept through the night. He had a bath and his Jammie's already on! She sent me a text asking if I was comfortable with that before she did and never even tried to overstep her bounds and respected my wishes as a mom without me even having to say anything. She just knew. I can not say enough praises about her. She's a kind hearted individual that is open and flexible to your schedule and will work with you and accommodate you by any means. I can't emphasize enough what a spectacular sitter she is and will use her again and any and every time I come to visit Virginia. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
