I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. I have always had a passion for childcare, and was always the one in the family who would volunteer to entertain the younger siblings at family gatherings. Even during my last 2 years of high school I worked part time at a family Daycare where my love for the field only grew. Eventually, after graduating, I was offered an amazing opportunity to work at Countrybear Preschool where I started working in the 1-2 year old room. There is where I learned how to teach the kids things like sign language and first words, along with colors and numbers and such. Eventually I worked my way up to the Preschool room where I got to work with kids ages 3-5, where we did everything with the kids from reading and writing, to teaching them their birthdays and where they live. I loved Read more my 2 and a half years there, along with babysitting regularly outside of work for a couple of the families that attended the daycare and a few I met on Care.com, ages ranging from infant to 12. Unfortunately circumstances led me to moving down to FL and having to leave all the families and kids I met, and I've missed them every day I've been gone. Luckily I was able to get as close with the families as I did and am still able to hear how the kids are doing and see them grow through contact with the parents, and I hope to find the opportunity to meet more families down here that could use help caring for and teaching their little ones as well, and I can make more connections like I have because each child I've ever helped care for will always hold a special place in my heart.
