When you're inviting a person to care for you or a loved one, obviously it would be wonderful to find someone who is among the best. Conscientious, caring, and experienced. You can count on me. My rate? $25/hour. Yes I have advanced degrees, and I've used them in numerous professional capacities, yet hands-on caregiving is my FAVORITE way to be employed, and one of the things I do best. Over a caregiving career exceeding 2 decades, I have treated my clients as I would like to be treated. I sought CNA training plus dozens of state-approved courses related to caregiving, and spent 13 years helping scores of people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in group home settings--including my own licensed home, often providing all ADL's (care related to eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and continence). I also have about 10 years of private-duty experience--in each case hired by a family Read more with very high expectations that I met well. For 3-1/2 years, it was recently my joy to give full time one-on-one care to an intellectually-disabled young man who uses a wheelchair; sadly, after giving him one-on-one care for about 6,000 hours, he moved to a group home. But now I'm available for you! Those are the basics. Here's a little more information if you're interested. One of my clients was a preeminent physician with many physical needs late in life. My care throughout 30 months led to a mention of me by name in his obituary (featured in two papers), which described me as compassionate and devoted. Another highlight was helping a former ballerina recover from surgery. I spent a full month with her, 24 hours a day! So when she fell ill a year later, the family thought of me, and it was a joy to assist her again. Amid many more examples, I spent 95 hours a week for a year caring for another gentleman. I grew to know him well and was honored to speak at his funeral. I've cared for youth and adults of all ages, including people with diagnoses such as autism, intermittent explosive disorder, Prader-Willi syndrome, Down syndrome, and mental illness. I've cared for those with many physical concerns: those who were blind or deaf or quadriplegic. That's just a sampling. Seeking someone who's knowledgeable, dependable, and patient? I may be the perfect fit! No one has ever regretted hiring me.
