Thanks for looking at my profile! I have a master's degree in occupational therapy (OT) and currently work part-time in an adult/pediatric rehab facility. I am currently available for weeknight/weekend babysitting opportunities in the area. I live close to the National Cathedral in NW DC. I have a lot of experience with children! I worked full time as an OT at Children's National Hospital for over a year and for the pediatric program at MedStar NRH for 3 years. I began babysitting when I was 12 years old, I've worked as a teacher's assistant in a summer school program for children with special needs, I've worked in Spain as an English teacher and counselor at summer camps for kids, and in college I interned at a residential facility for children with emotional and behavioral disorders. I am CPR certified for infants, children, and adults. I have also been double vaccinated Read more and boosted against COVID-19. Also of note, I am a musician (piano, saxophone) and used to teach lessons in high school, so if your kid is interested in learning music, I would love to help! I'm also a photographer so if you're interested in updates from your kids via photos or a baby/kid photo shoot, I offer those services as well.

Alethea has been the primary "date night" sitter for our family for over 2 years. We are selfishly sad she is moving on to DC, but feel very fortunate to have had her in our lives! Our oldest (5+yrs) loves her and squeals with excitement when she drives up. We also just had a baby, and Alethea has been sitting both for the past few months. She also exhibits a saintly patience with our large, overly friendly dog, and did some housesitting for us, when we were on vacation. I recommend Alethea without reservation.

We visited from out of town. We went out for two date nights. Alethea showed up on time at our hotel, and was so wonderful with our little 6 mo old. We had no worries after meeting her.

Alethea is very patient, kind, fun, and sweet with my preschooler. She is incredibly well organized (always on time and confirming upcoming babysitting schedules) and creative at drawing out our shy-at-first child. We trust her completely and know that everything will be taken care of when we are away. Highly recommend!

Alethea is amazing, always on time and a wiz with both our baby and toddler. She stayed calm and confident during a 2 hour cry from our baby and managed to play trains and entertain our toddler. On top of everything, she got everyone to bed on time! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

Alethea has been sitting for my 9 month old daughter for several months (two days a week) and is absolutely wonderful! She has a calm demeanor and my daughter took to her right away. Alethea is very bright and this gives me peace of mind, should a crisis arise. She also is very punctual which I appreciate. Before asking her to sit, I spoke with one of her references who also had glowing things to say. I would highly recommend Alethea as a sitter!
