I began babysitting when I was 14 years old and haven't gone long without babysitting since! I started by babysitting kids in my neighborhood and my baby cousins when they came along, but my most formal babysitting and nannying experience took place while I was still an undergraduate student in Atlanta, Georgia. I nannied and babysat for one girl, aged 6 years old when I began working with her family and then 9 years old when I left to move to the District, and her younger sister over the course of my last two years of university and the beginning of my gap year before graduate school. I also was the driver and babysitter for two girls my senior year of college and was instructed to only speak to them in French to improve their French-language speaking abilities.
