NORWALK, CT 25 Y/O ECSU Graduate - Hi there! My name is Ashley. I am seeking out a part time nanny position because I have a passion for working with children! I have an extensive history working with children - I enjoy getting to know them, discovering their learning styles, engineering imaginative projects & activities, and assisting in reaching milestones! Most of my experience is with younger children, but I am comfortable with older children too. I spent a lot of time working with and being around children while I was growing up, as my mother ran a daycare business and my family provided foster care. I babysat throughout high school and college, and began working at a preschool (for ages 5 months - 5 years) after I graduated. After one year in a preschool setting I decided to try nannying - and I could not be any more grateful Read more for the family I proceeded to spend a year and a half with! Watching the kids grow up (3 y/o -> 4.5 y/o & newborn -> 1.5 y/o), and being able to get to know them individually & teach them was such an amazing privilege. Saying goodbye was difficult for all of us when they moved away! I am a photographer and love all things creative!! I am also passionate about reading & writing! I teach using creating, playing and entertaining activities that are developmentally appropriate, depending on age. I frequently spend time outside as well. I love to engage in conversation with children about any topics of their interest, even if it is only about our surroundings or our actions in play, in an effort to develop their communication.
