Hey! I am a Springfield College student home from school for the summer and I am looking for a short term position on top of my other job to take care of some kids! I have a lot of experience with children, aside from my two younger brothers, I am a substitute para in the two elementary schools in my town as well as a youth soccer referee. I have a lot of experience with children with special needs/ADHD and am happy to take care of children with those needs. I am also CPR certified as a part of the EMT Basic course that I completed and passed at school. I also work in a Physical Therapy clinic over the summer where I have had a lot of experience with children with diabetes so I am capable of handling that as well. As a referee, I mostly interact with the Read more children in a positive way as I believe that youth soccer is a learning environment, not just a competitive space. I have had experiences in which I do need to convey the rules of soccer in a firm manner but I believe there is always a little bad with the good and I am willing to put my foot down when need be. I love working with all kinds of children and love to be outside and active. I’m a pretty big advocate for kids to spend a lot more time outside than on the screen, though I think there can definitely be a healthy balance. My current major at school is a Physician Assistant which is a 6 year bachelor-masters program. As of right now, I am very interested in working in pediatrics once I graduate and I am looking to gain lots of experience with kids and learn how their body language can communicate things that they cannot. I am very comfortable with pets as my family has a dog and cat of our own so if there are any additional needs with the animals I am happy to take care of that as well!
