Hi families! I’m Laura, 27 years old and was born and raised in Germany, Europe. I came to the U.S. two years ago and am now married to my wonderful husband. We are living together in Aurora, Colorado. Before I came to the U.S., I graduated from nursing school in Germany. A lot of my childcare experience is from the time I worked in the hospital with children, toddlers, and infants (depending on the unit). I know how to bottle feed a baby, how to change diapers, how to prepare a meal for toddlers, how to bath a baby, how to dress and undress a baby, how to calm and hold a baby, etc. My first year in the U.S. was as an Au Pair, living with a host family. I took care of two boys (10 and 7 years old). The oldest one had an Asperger’s diagnosis. The family Read more was and still is so thankful for me and my work that I dedicated to the family. I made the kids’ lunchboxes for school, made their meals (breakfast, snacks and dinner), played with them, supervised them, drove them from and to camps, activities and picked them up from school, cleaned up after them, washed and folded their laundry, did the dishes, etc. I also ran errands for the family, like going to the grocery store, etc. I did this for 1 year and 8 months in total and during my time, I built an amazing relationship with the boys. The family would describe me as very reliable, flexible, hardworking, dedicated, responsible, respectful, good with kids, caring and loving.
